The Whitehall Suite
Located on the lower level of the grand marble staircase, this sizeable ballroom was once home to the National Liberal Club. Stepping across the threshold instantly brings you back to its time as an exclusive Billiards room, where titled gentry would play billiards beneath the glowing chandeliers. The double height ceilings, period fireplaces, glossy tiled columns and ornamental ceiling mean that little decoration goes a long way in this atmospheric ballroom. Also, with a built in dance floor at your disposal, you and your guests can dance uninterrupted into the night.
The Gladstone Library
The Gladstone Library is a hidden secret in Westminster, and a room that instantly wins over the hearts of anyone who enters. The remarkable floor to ceiling shelves are filled with replicas of 30,000 books, so not only do they look wonderful, but they are useful facades to keep wires hidden once fairy lights and production elements are installed. The library is framed by symmetrical columns, and book-ended by two handsome fireplaces. These interior elements come together to create a beautiful setting for a love story, over which the ornate chandeliers cast a warm glow.
Reading & Writing Room
Next door the the Gladstone Library, The Reading and Writing Room is another romantic backdrop for your wedding day. The large function suite features detailed hand painted murals, colossal tiled pillars and a historic fireplace to set the scene for a grand occasion. Like the Gladstone Library, the room boasts soaring ceilings and spectacular outlooks over the River Thames and the legendary London Eye. So whatever the season, the room is adaptable to make a cosy candlelit atmosphere or a daytime celebration with the sunlight streaming in.
River Room
This regal room, encased in picturesque wooden panelling and royal blue carpets is a splendid scene to host your nuptials or wedding breakfast. The history of this suite dates back to the days of the National Liberal Club, when it was used as a Ladies Lounge. The elegant Victorian interiors give way to large floor to ceiling length windows and direct views over Whitehall Gardens and the River Thames. Given the smaller proportions of the River Room, it suits petite wedding parties and provides a tranquil and intimate setting to say I do in the heart of Westminster.
Meston Suite
Across the hall from the River Room, the Meston Suite is of similar proportion. The light blue and white hues of the room make a heavenly scene for wedding celebrations, with large lashings of light flooding through the windows. The fireplace makes a beautiful centrepiece for a ceremony, and the symmetry of the room makes a desirable layout for a wedding aisle, or for elegant poseur tables dotted around the room. Like all the function suites, the Meston Suite also benefits from soaring double height ceilings.

It is the epicentre of the UK’s government, and as such, some of London’s most iconic landmarks and lavish buildings are within walking distance of this luxury hotel wedding venue. As the name of the hotel suggests, the famous ‘Changing of the Guards’ attraction at Horseguards Parade is located just a four minute walk away. This is the ceremonial switch between guards, as one dismounts to hand over duty of protecting Buckingham Palace and St James’s Palace to the next. This regal ceremony takes place at the gates to the Royal Parks, which you can also apply to take photographs in on your wedding day. Further along the stretch of Whitehall is the remarkable Trafalgar Square, home to photogenic fountains, Nelson’s Column and the National Gallery where many of the world’s most precious paintings are safeguarded. Closer to the River Thames lies the heralded Houses of Parliament, the Big Ben clock and of course the striking Westminster Abbey, which has been the backdrop to sixteen Royal Weddings. As you can see, the Westminster area that surrounds The Royal Horseguards & One Whitehall Place is packed with architectural gems and important expressions of English Heritage, all positioned along the magnificent channel of the River Thames.

Although, if the elegance of Mayfair is the setting you would prefer to opt for, St George’s Church in Hanover Square is a classical choice with six Corinthian columns framing the grand entrance, and within the church sits the first ever American built organ.
